Nellie McKay has released three critically acclaimed albums: Get Away From Me, Pretty Little Head, and her most recent, Obligatory Villagers.
On the stage, Nellie won a Theatre World Award for her portrayal of Polly Peachum in the Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera. She has performed on numerous television and radio shows while touring the world, opened for Bo Diddley and Sting, dueted with Eartha Kitt, Trey Anastasio and Taj Mahal, interviewed Doris Day, and shared the stage with Gloria Steinem, Odetta, Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, Cyndi Lauper, and other notables in aid of various progressive pursuits.

"The Extension Ensemble has been steadily building a reputation for daring and innovative programming since its inception in 1998 in New York City, and performs a wide variety of contemporary music. While commissioning over ten works in the last two years and presenting concerts which include new music as well as improvisation, it has actively set out to expand both the brass repertoire and audiences’ conceptions of a contemporary brass quintet. The Extension Ensemble has been featured in concert at festivals such as Works & Process at the Guggenheim Museum , Cross Currents at the Cooper Hewitt Museum of Modern Design, Ars Vitalis at the New Jersey New Music Forum, Juilliard's Focus Festival, the New York Brass Conference, and the Aspen Music Festival."

Take D, Q or F to Stillwell Station. Exit the train station, take a left on Surf Avenue and head towards the Cyclone Roller Coaster.
Take the F or Q to 8th Street/Aquarium stop, take a right on Surf Ave and cross the street at the Cyclone at 10th Street. Astroland is located at 1000 Surf Avenue between 10th Street and Jones Walk.
By Car
From Manhattan: Take the West Side Highway to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, Take the BQE West to Belt Parkway East, get off at exit 7S, Ocean Parkway. Go right on Ocean Parkway 4 blocks. When Ocean Parkway ends and becomes Surf Avenue, Astroland will be on your left at the corner of West 10th Street.
